Automotive Paints

1. Electrodeposition (ED) Technology: This product provides an excellent and smooth film appearance and is specially developed for the 3 Wet Coating Systems. It has been designed for uniform DFT distribution with super high throwing power to achieve minimum cost/unit with excellent performance. In E-Coat, the metal substrate is immersed in an aqueous bath solution & coated with a charged organic primer under the influence of an electric field. The distinct advantages of the E-Coat are Uniform coverage without pinholes, or other surface defects, leading to less paint consumption; Better edge protection resulting in corrosion resistance; Coating/access to recessed areas like box-sections, etc. It is a single coat environment-friendly water-based coating system.

 The E-Coat process is fully automated, leading to less manpower requirement and is cost-effective with the possibility of a higher paint recovery ratio (up to 99.5% with Ultra Filtrate & Reverse Osmosis system). PRODUCT RANGE In CED, our product range consists of • Epoxy Resin-Based Cathodic Electro-Deposition Primer (CED) • Acrylic Resin-Based Cathodic Electro-Deposition Primer (ACED) The product ACED won an innovation award for being first in the world for the usage of a single-coat application system for coating of motorcycle frames. Our CED is free of heavy metals and meets the stringent environmental norms of the automotive industry.

 

2. Intermediate Coats/ Primer Surfaces: The Primer Surfacer is the second functional layer and it acts as an intermediate coat between E-coat and the topcoats. It also provides excellent stone chip protection and protection against UV rays to the E-coat film. The Intermediate Coats are available in white, light grey, dark grey, red, blue, and other specific colours as required by OE manufacturers. Waterborne dipping primers are also developed with an eye on a safer environment.

 3.Top Coats: Top Coats provide colour, aesthetics, and weather protection to the coating system in automotive. We provide a large variety of topcoats based on various resin backbones designed as per specific technical specifications of customers. Containing an extensive range of coloured pigments and effect pigments, it plays a significant role in establishing the visual image. A general distinction can be drawn between a solid-colour and a metallic paint finish in this segment. Various types of Metallic & Mica finishes are available. 

4. Clear Coats: The clear coat is the top layer in a paint system that provides resistance to sunlight and weather and also to chemicals and biological materials such as bird droppings. It helps provide a scratch-resistant final coat to the coating system. DNK Chemicals and Coatings offer clear coats of various functionalities such as scratch resistance, acid & alkali resistance, UV resistance, mar resistance, etc.

 

5. Touch Up paints & Auto Refinishing Products: DNK Chemicals and Coatings also Provide various types of touch paints that are used to undertake small touch-ups if the paint film is damaged. We offer a complete range of Auto Refinish product range to service requirements of body shops for repair coatings.

6. Heat Resistant Paints: We provide speciality paints such as heat resistant paints, both for interior & exterior surfaces of motorcycle mufflers. These are made to withstand high-temperature conditions up to 600°C.

7. Rapgard Transit Protection Films: DNK Chemicals and Coatings supplies Rapgard Transit Protection Films which are used for the protection of automotive vehicles during transit from dust, chemicals, bird droppings, and damages to the paint film. Films are available for the protection of metal & plastics surfaces. • General Industries Coatings: The Name GI itself indicates that it contains all the general industries and OEMs, mainly other than Auto and HPC. GI Coatings includes Fan Coatings, Cycle Industry, Agriculture Equipments, Gas Cylinder Coatings, Glass coatings, Helmets, TV Cabinets, etc. • Powder Coating: Powder Coating is an advanced method of applying a decorative and protective finish to virtually any type of metal that can be used both by industry and consumers. The powder used in the process is a mixture of finely ground particles of pigment and resin, which is electrostatically sprayed onto the surface to be coated. The charged powder particles adhere to the electrically grounded surfaces until the powder is heated and fused into a smooth coating in the curing oven. The result is a uniform, durable, high quality, and attractive finish.

Powder Coating

Powder coating paint is applied to metallic surfaces using free flowing powder coating material which is applied electrostatically.

Benefits of Powder Coating are: More Durable, more Environment Friendly, Reduces the health hazards to operators, the processing time is reduced, air requirements are reduced – more cost-saving, the powder is cleaner to use. Coil Coating

Earlier coils used to be supplied bare, and after processes (like stamping, profiling, molding and assembly) OEMs used to paint the structure. This is being replaced with the value-added process. Precoated coils are directly used in many of the applications which range from white goods to roofing solutions. This is a vertical shift in the manufacturing industry. Floor Coating

We also provide a wide range of Floor Coating Products that ensure protection & seamless uniform levelling on Concrete / MS surfaces. Floor coating includes epoxy self-levelling toppings, solvent-free polyurethanes, Epoxy – Polyurethane (EPU), Deck coatings, Anti-Static system, Chemical resistant system, Car Parking, Decorative system and other wide range of applications. Pre-Treatment Chemicals

Pre-treatment Chemicals are the chemicals that are used for Metal Cleaning, Descaling, Derusting, Phosphating and Passivating Chemicals. Product Range

Degreasing Chemical: Formulated environmentally friendly chemicals to remove a variety of oil and dirt from the material substrates 

Surface Condition Chemical: High-performance chemical for preparing the surface substrate to be suitable before the conversion coating process by controlling the size of crystal film to meet each OEM specifications.

Conversion Coating Chemical: These products are divided into many types depending on substrate and purpose

  • Coating chemical for steel or galvanized steel

Functions of Surface treatment 

We have four Main Objectives in this section.

  • Anti-corrosion, based for organic coating:

Phosphating can anti-corrosion and clean the material surface and increase adhesion efficiency for organic coating.

  • Anti-sizer for Cold Forming:

Zinc Phosphate crystals will react with soap forming metal soap layers which lubricate and wear resistance between steel and mould in a cold forming process prolonging the lifespan of mould.

  • Wear resistance:

Some parts of the movement or friction at all times will cause wear or heat up. It must-have oil to lubricate. The oil will be absorbed onto a piece of skin and must be prepared to make oil that can be absorbed in the gap between the phosphate crystals, it can maintain the lubrication of the parts.

  • Paint Base:

Phosphating can raise adhesion efficiency and anti-corrosion as well.

Rust Preventive Oil: As our long history in degreasing chemical and pretreatment specialist, Nihon Parkerizing India Pvt. Ltd. has developed high-performance products for rust prevention in term of “NOX RUST” that never cause the heart to be removed by alkali degreasing in pretreatment process.
